Gavin Mann MICFor, Senior Forest Manager
After a career change from information technology Gavin graduated from the University of Central Lancashire (Newton Rigg campus) in 2006 with an honours degree in Forest and Woodland Management.
He initially worked as a self-employed contractor in Cumbria, learning practical skills and applying his knowledge of small woodland management and arboriculture. He then joined a nationwide forest management company in 2008 and was responsible for a wide range of commercial forestry properties across South and Central Scotland.
In 2014 he moved to help set up the new forest management department for a European wood-based panel manufacturer and this allowed him to expand into systems design, business development and woodland creation.
Gavin joined Tilhill in 2020 and manages woodlands for investment clients and private estates. His particular interests and areas of expertise include forest restructuring, geographic information systems and certification. Gavin’s pastimes include running, mountain biking, hill walking and gardening.
