John Little BSc (Hons) MICFor, Senior Forest Manager
John graduated in 1984 from Edinburgh University with a degree in Ecological Science with Forestry. He worked for the Forestry Commission as a Survey Assistant for a year based in Hexham, then joined Tilhill in the Central Scotland District in 1985.
After a year he moved to the West Highland District, where he has been very happy to work since, becoming District Manager in 2011. John is an ICF Chartered Forester; he has served on the Committee of the Royal Scottish Forestry Society and is a member of the Confederation of Forest Industries (ConFor) and the Forest Industries Safety Accord (FISA). He also serves as the Private Forestry Sector representative on the Argyll and Bute Local Access Forum.
With the BSW sawmill in Kilmallie within the District’s area, John is able to show clients the forestry industry process from planting a tree, to the sawn wood being dispatched to house builders and DIY stores.
