Improving Native Woodland Habitat Networks and Diversifying Income Steams

Working closely with the landowner, Tilhill Forestry designed and planted a woodland on land formerly used for grazing livestock. Having secured funding through the Forestry Grant Scheme, this project contributes towards government targets to mitigate climate change via carbon sequestration, through the expansion of woodland areas.

Driving Farm Diversification and Carbon Sequestration through Broadleaf Woodland Creation

Tilhill Forestry, working closely with the farmer, designed the woodland creation plan and applied for the EWCO grant funding. The aim was to diversify the farmland through incorporating mixed broadleaf tree species alongside the existing farm business.

Planting Hedgerows for Habitat Creation and Connectivity

Tilhill Forestry and National Trust plant over 40,000 mixed hedgerow trees & shrubs for 8.2km’s of hedgerows at White Lea Farm to diversify the land for social and environmental benefit.
