Most of us undertake First Aid training every three years and there is an expectation that we will keep ourselves up-to-date in between time. This can be hard to achieve without doing a formal refresher course. In the event of an incident will you remember all the techniques covered on your course?
In each first aid kit there should be a basic leaflet for first aid, but a suggestion from one of our employees was the use of a first aid app. These can have learning and testing functions as well as emergency advice. They not only give access to written advice, but also short training videos. A great way to keep your knowledge current.
Two such apps are available from Red Cross and St John’s Ambulance. Just go to your phone or tablets app store to download.
