In 2009 a haulier was killed on one of our sites when one such tree blew down while they were loading their wagon
It is not always possible to avoid those trees on some sites whilst waiting for a but the area around them needs to be managed to ensure all forest users remain safe. This may mean pausing timber haulage of the timber stacked in the range of such trees until they are dealt with.
As we head into winter with storms and strong winds more likely this will need greater attention.
Above: Haulage from these stacks was paused until the trees had been felled safely.
