Maelor Forest Nurseries is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Hardy as their new Commercial Manager with effect from 1 September 2019.
Chris joined the team as a Technical Trainee at Maelor in August 2011 after graduating from Lancaster University. He became Technical Manager in 2017 and is currently in the process of completing an MSc in Plant Pathology with Harper Adams University.
Chris has been responsible for the trial work carried out by Maelor in conjunction with universities and commercial partners including Hylobius control measures, alternative species trials and tree breeding trials of hybrids. His work has involved full compliance with Integrated Pest Management protocols. Through his experience and studies Chris has accumulated considerable knowledge on growing key conifer commercial species.
With a strong passion for plant production, considerable experience in working with foresters on trial sites and a good understanding of the UK forest industry Maelor are confident that Chris will make a strong Commercial Manager for the Company.
Richard Parsons (the current Commercial Manager) leaves Maelor Forest Nurseries on 5 September to take up a forestry role with the Forestry Commission.
