Teams will race to reach five stops along the route, which mark significant locations and represent an achievement in the number of miles completed.
The challenge will start on 10th September 2023 to mark World Suicide Prevention Day and will end on 10th October 2023 to mark World Mental Health Day, giving the 14 teams taking part 31 days to go the distance.
The teams will track their journey and the rest of the company’s using an app created with End to End. As added motivation, when teams achieve 50% of the challenge, a meal is donated to someone in need in the UK through End to End’s charity partners.
Harry Stevens, Tilhill’s Managing Director said:
“It is important to understand that we all must look after our mental health as much as our physical health. That’s why I am excited that this challenge has been created as an excellent team building exercise, and to raise money for a very important cause.”
Tilhill continues to recognise the importance of good mental health and ensures that selected staff across the country are trained as Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) alongside publishing regular mental health awareness bulletins for our staff.”
It’s great to see so many staff from across the country taking part- including myself, with some inventive team names, I wish them all the best of luck in the fundraising challenge and look forward to meeting you on the ‘road’.”
Tilhill is striving to raise £7,500 for Samaritans, to help them continue to reach those who are struggling to cope.
The charity ensures people have somewhere to turn and support when they need it most. They work with communities and campaign to make suicide prevention a priority.
