Rowena Young - Assistant Forest Manager
Rowena is part of the Anglia and Chilterns team where she is supporting clients with a wide range of lowland forestry management, from developing woodland management plans, to accessing grants and delivering woodland creation.
She is particularly interested in improving forest resilience and developing creative solutions to preserve ecosystem health, timber production and the many other contributions thriving woodlands make to our landscapes and communities.
Rowena joined Tilhill following a career in social innovation and entrepreneurship. Through a series of roles in the charitable, public and private sectors, she gained a range of skills of benefit to clients, from design and planning to building sustainable businesses. She started out in journalism and public policy.
Building on earlier training in horticulture and planting design, Rowena is studying for the MSc Forestry at Bangor University. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and working towards professional membership.
